Regional Climate Resilience Program 2 – Malawi
The Regional Climate Resilience Program (RCRP-2) strengthens Malawi’s long-term resilience through five components: Risk Management and Climate Financing to build institutional capacity and integrate climate financing; Infrastructure Investments and Sustainable Asset Management to support post-cyclone recovery and resilient catchment infrastructure.
Adaptive Climate Services for Resilient Communities to enhance preparedness and embed climate in social protection; Project Management to ensure effective coordination across ministries and districts; and the Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) enabling rapid crisis response.
Components: Program essential pillars that structure actions, goals, and resilience.

A storm-damaged classroom block at Iponga Primary School in Karonga has been rehabilitated under RCRP-2 at about K82 million, restoring safe learning for 640 learners who had studied under trees and in overcrowded rooms for three years. Head teacher Patrick Matekenya and pupils welcomed the project, saying it will improve concentration and performance.
