RCRP-2 orients media

Published on January 23, 2026

The first of a series of Media Orientation Workshops is underway in Blantyre. The training sessions have drawn together District Information Officers and journalists from both national and community media houses in the southern region. Speaking during the opening ceremony, Deputy Project Coordinator at Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) Kumbukani Ng’ambi, said the media is a vital bridge between policy and people. “Your role in amplifying stories of innovation, accountability, and community triumph is indispensable. When journalists understand climate resilience, millions stay safer. “This workshop is an invitation to deepen your understanding of RCRP-2's four core components: climate financing for adaptive investments, infrastructure and sustainable asset management, climate services for resilient communities, and the Contingency Emergency Response Component,” he said. Among others, the journalists were taken through the interventions by the two Project Implementation Units: the National Local Government Finance Committee and the Roads Authority, as well as those implemented by various ministries, departments and agencies.
